This bike was designed for a 1.85m man weighing 115kg who likes to ride fast and go far. Indeed, the bike with serial number 0001 belongs to Mike Wallace. This bike is also a demo bike which shows of the technologies available on the market and Psi Vélos' know-how.
We started with a 51cm Psi Ko frame, and a Ko carbon fibre fork and stem. Followed up with a SRAM Red eTap electronic gruppo and a White Industry R30 crankset with Variable Bolt Circle (VBC) technology. Mr. Wallace wanted 175mm cranks and wanted a crankset that would stand out. The chainrings were chosen knowing that Mr. Wallace wants to go fast, but also that it does not have the capabilities that he once had. The gear ratios will be very friendly in the slopes thanks to the small 34 tooth chainring.
The wheels were made with Freedom CRD55-D deep dish rims, Sapim Blade spokes and White Industry XMR hubs. All surrounded by Michelin rubber. We wanted to keep aerodynamics in the foreground with the rims and given Mr. Wallace's weight we put 32 spokes on both wheels.
SRAM hydraulic brakes were chosen for their stability when the temperature changes.
The final touches were achieved with the Freedom component range: hanger, rims, stem, saddle. These components were chosen for their lightness, flexibility and strength.
